Quinnipiac University is pleased to welcome ambitious high school students who are ready to explore what their college experience might look like. Thanks to a strong partnership with the Society of Human Engagement & Business Alignment (SHEBA), eligible high school students may now apply for and receive tuition support for select on-campus programs this summer at QU. 

Why should high school students consider a Quinnipiac summer program?

Our summer programs offer high school students the opportunity to:

  • Explore topics of interest at the college level, free from college-level pressure

  • Experience living and learning on a college campus

  • Build a portfolio of work within an academic field of interest

  • Connect personally with Quinnipiac faculty, staff and other students

  • Build high-demand soft skills, such as communication, critical thinking and confidence

  • Earn valuable certifications and experience to add to a resume

Eligible Programs for Summer 2025

July 7 - July 18, 2025

Program Overview

This 2-week summer program introduces high school students to academic game design and eSports as potential career paths. Participants will spend the mornings learning the process of brainstorming, designing, developing and testing games before shifting their attention in the afternoons and focusing on how to participate in and manage eSports teams and competitions.

At the end of the program, you’ll walk away with:

  • An understanding of the online gaming industry and potential career paths to inspire your personal, academic and professional aspirations within game design and eSports

  • Hands-on experience with the game design process from brainstorming to design to development to testing

  • Knowledge of how to manage eSports teams and competitions successfully and inclusively

Program Costs

All programs are fully funded thanks to the partnership between SHEBA and Quinnipiac University. Programming includes:

  • Two weeks of faculty-designed and delivered programming with educational support staff and program materials

  • Technology and software support

  • A Quinnipiac T-shirt

  • A digital badge for use on social media, resumes or portfolios

  • Access to special Quinnipiac Admissions events

Participation Requirements

Participants must be current high school students. Typically, participants are between the ages of 15 to 18 years of age at the start of the program. Quinnipiac University will provide all required materials, including laptops, for students within this program. Students are welcome to bring their own laptops or other devices for use outside of instruction periods or with the approval of their instructor.

July 14 - July 18, 2025

Program Overview

Want to start your own business or help an existing business grow? We've designed a summer workshop for high school students interested in innovating and launching new business ideas. Over the course of the week, students will learn about problem solving and ideation, critical thinking, team dynamics, leadership, research and validation of ideas.

At the end of the program, you’ll walk away with:

  • Analytical and entrepreneurship skills to make you feel more prepared for college and the world of business.

  • At least one new business idea and a foundation for pursuing it.

  • Improved business presentation skills and gained confidence in public speaking.

All programs are fully funded thanks to the partnership between SHEBA and Quinnipiac University. Programming includes:

Program Overview

This fast-paced program is open to high school students who dream of telling their stories across all types of media platforms. Participants will work with award-winning media professionals and use our industry-standard cameras and editing suites to translate their creative ideas into engaging short films and video pieces.

At the end of the program, you’ll walk away with:

  • The ability to create dynamic and diverse media content for all types of audiences

  • A comprehensive experience working in a team environment with others who share your passions

  • Skills in producing, scripting, cinematography and post-production

  • Professional content you can use on your own social media channels or in portfolios for applications to college-level programs

Program Costs

All programs are fully funded thanks to the partnership between SHEBA and Quinnipiac University. Programming includes:

This exclusive partnership supports full residential experiences during the summer. Whether you select a 1-week or 2-week program, you'll have unprecedented access to our beautiful campus and facilities. Attendees will stay in our residence halls, enjoy meals in our dining halls and get a sense of what being a college student (and a Bobcat!) is all about.

Take our virtual tour, featuring panoramic views of the Mount Carmel and York Hill campuses. Stops include the Arnold Bernhard Library, student centers, sports center and residence halls.

Accommodations
