The Center on Dispute Resolution
The Center on Dispute Resolution at Quinnipiac Law focuses on integrating the theory and practice of dispute resolution. Since 1998, the center has created opportunities for both dispute resolution professionals and law students to engage in dialogue and attend training to develop knowledge and skills in this growing field. Furthermore, Quinnipiac’s Dispute Resolution program was ranked 15th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its 2023 Best Graduate School rankings.
What we do
The Quinnipiac-Yale Dispute Resolution Workshop, sponsored by the center, brings distinguished scholars to both campuses to engage students, practitioners and professors in lively discussions about important issues in the field.
The center's 40-hour mediation training course provides a comprehensive introduction to mediation and conflict management. It also recently expanded its offerings with the addition of a negotiation training course.
On a biennial basis, the center hosts the Connecticut Bar Foundation John A. Speziale ADR Symposium. The symposium honors Chief Justice Speziale, a pioneer in bringing alternative dispute resolution to Connecticut. The symposium provides a forum for practitioners, scholars, and students to explore and discuss ADR issues.
