Congratulations! You have officially made it to college! We are so excited to welcome you into our den.
Amid the excitement and liveliness of your first week at Quinnipiac, remember to take a moment to appreciate all that you have accomplished thus far. Now that you’re here, it is critical to get involved and find your niche in our community. The best way to learn about our more than 170 student-run clubs and organizations is at our Student Engagement Fair, recently rescheduled for this Thursday, August 29, from 4-6 p.m. on the Quad.
Regardless if you are joining us from across the country, from a neighboring state, or even only a town away, taking the leap is never easy. In the wise words of Taylor Swift, “The scary news is, you're on your own now. The cool news is, you're on your own now.”
The Engagement Fair is your first step toward getting involved and you'll have many more opportunities throughout the year. We encourage you to take the leap, and we're here for you.
Welcome home, Bobcats! No matter where life takes you, you will always have a place in our den.

Did you know that students create much of the content you see each in Bobcat Bound and Quinnipiac Today, across QU.edu and our social media platforms, and on our digital screens across our campuses? Our team also personifies Boomer the Bobcat and even helps plan and execute events. If you are work-study eligible, we encourage you to consider applying for a position on our digital storytelling team regardless of which major or school you are in. The position is competitive, so we encourage you to apply this week!

Like any good coach, Andrew Delohery knows that to achieve your best, you need to put in the practice. The same holds true in academics.
Managing our Learning Commons, Delohery works with several teams to provide opportunities for academic practice. One is the staff of the Office of Academic Development and Outreach where academic coaches and specialists are committed to helping students develop, plan and reach their full potential. Inviting students to be partners in their own development process is a crucial ingredient.
“Our staff encourage students to think of the Learning Commons as a gymnasium, not a hospital where you visit because something is wrong. The Learning Commons is a gym where you discover and build on your strengths and practice with support, just as an athlete would before a game or a musician before a recital,” said Delohery, associate vice president of retention and academic success. “The process we utilize is called Appreciative Advising. It’s more about recognizing and building the skills, the muscle memory and the sense of self to help you reach your goals and develop the tools needed for success in college, career and life."
Through the Learning Commons, professional academic coaches work specifically with first-year students, starting at orientation and carrying through their entire first year.
Designed to help students navigate their first year of study, Bobcat Academy focuses on three key transition areas: succeeding in academics, adjusting to life away from home, and building a trustworthy social network of friends, classmates and faculty advisers.
Students who participate in Bobcat Academy are better positioned to succeed in all aspects of the college experience here at Quinnipiac. This program is especially beneficial for underrepresented students and first-generation students, and is open to students in all majors. Upon joining Bobcat Academy, students will be assigned a dedicated faculty adviser within their school or college.
This faculty adviser will provide one-on-one academic coaching and mentorship throughout the academic year, offering guidance for building successful study habits, selecting courses and adjusting to the expectations of college-level academics.
All Advanced Placement scores have recently been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. As our admissions team processes these credits, students will be able to view them in both their Self-Service account and Stellic. Students receiving AP (or any transfer) credit for a class that they have already registered for in the Fall term will be contacted by their respective college or school to advise them on any necessary schedule changes.
Payments were due on Friday, July 12. If you haven't made your payment yet, please do so now in Self-Service. You can also still sign up for a payment plan. Missed installments are due at the time of enrollment. Learn more about how to resolve a balance.
Whether you enjoy delicious sit-down meals with friends or need to grab a wholesome snack on the way to class, our dining plans are designed with personalization and flexibility in mind.

We also encourage you to consider joining our student dining advisory board. Details to come at the start of the academic year.

Catch up on — or read again! — all the issues of Bobcat Bound that were sent to new students.
It's the moment we have all been waiting for — time to formally welcome you to our Bobcat family. We look forward to welcoming you at our Class of 2028 Welcome this Friday.
To help you prepare you for move-in and what to expect in your first few weeks, we have compiled everything you need to know here.
It is important that you arrive to move in at your respective check-in time to ensure a smooth process for everyone. Failing to do so will cause backups throughout the entire process.
Each first-year student moving into a residence hall must register for a time slot during their respective day. The success of our move-in process is dependent on everyone signing up for a specific time slot. All residential students received an email during the beginning of this month with a link. If you have not yet signed up for a time slot, please do so today. If you have any issues, email residentiallife@qu.edu.
Students moving into a residence hall on the Mount Carmel Campus should enter New Road from Ives Street, unless they are moving into The Grove, in which case they should enter via Mount Carmel Avenue. Check out the route you will take to your specific residence hall. Note: You may pass your residence hall while in line to unload. Please stay in your vehicle until directed otherwise.
Each first-year student moving into a residence hall next week is permitted one vehicle to be pulled up to a residence hall and receive the assistance of our talented and passionate move-in crew. Any additional vehicles will be directed toward a parking lot, from where you may carry additional items to your room. We recommend any students wishing to bring a second vehicle to do it in the weeks after move-in.
Please label everything with your room number and name to ensure it reaches the right destination.
While unloading in front of your respective residence hall, one person must wait in your vehicle at all times. After all contents are out of your vehicle, the driver will be directed to the closest available parking lot.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with our move-in plan.
Residential first-year students, regardless of the number of completed credits, are not permitted to have vehicles on campus. Commuter first-year students may register and bring a vehicle to campus.
For commuter first-year students only:
All drivers of vehicles are required to review and be familiar with the Quinnipiac Parking Rules and Regulations.
Commuter first-year students may park in North Lot, Hilltop, Hogan, North Haven Garage, North Haven Surface Lots with student parking signage, Westwoods, Whitney Village and York Hill Garage.
Campus maps will help to identify the lots for which each permit entitles parking.
Decals are printed on a rolling basis. When decals are printed and ready for pick up, emails will be sent to the student’s Quinnipiac email account with instructions for pick-up.
A valid Quinnipiac ID must be presented by the student to pick up the decal.
Undergraduate commuter students will pick up their permits from the One Stop Office.
Student permits are valid only for the academic year in which they are issued.
The expiration date is printed on the decal.
Each student is entitled to one parking permit.
We are excited to welcome you to our Bobcat family at Welcome Weekend!

Throughout the past week, we have been receiving two common questions about dining plans — and we wanted to share them with you in case you had similar concerns:
Q. I am expecting an adjustment to my bill for meal plan, housing, health insurance or financial aid but it is not there and payment was due on July 12. What should I do?
A. We understand that it may take time for adjustments to meal plans, housing, health insurance and financial aid. In the meantime, as you prepare to pay your bill, please pay for the items that you intend to select. For example, if you are anticipating aid, please deduct it from your balance and pay that part. Then, we ask all students to review their invoice again in a couple of weeks and again after add/drop to pay any remaining balance. After add/drop, we will also review balances and will refund any payments made in excess.
Q. How can I change my meal plan?
A. The My Housing application, which manages both housing and meal plans, is closed to students until early August. At that time, the portal will open and you can change your meal plans. In the meantime, as you prepare to pay your bill, please pay for the meal plan that you intend to select. Then, please review your invoice again in a couple of weeks and again after add/drop to pay any remaining balance. Welcome, incoming students!
We are excited to welcome you to Quinnipiac this August.
As you begin your college journey, you will develop new friendships, explore campus and settle into dorm living. The School of Business faculty and staff look forward to seeing you soon and offering our support during this exciting transition to college. We are here for you!
In your first few weeks at Quinnipiac, you will quickly find a variety of opportunities both on campus and in your classes. At the engagement fair, you will learn about student groups across campus and within the School of Business. These include the M&T Bank Center for Women and Business, the M&T Bank Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and clubs such as the Accounting Society, Blockchain@QU, Girls Who Code, the Society for Human Resource Management, Girls That Invest and the Micro-Lending Club, to name a few.
We encourage you to enrich your college experience by attending events, including career fairs, guest speakers and developmental workshops offered throughout the year. These events provide opportunities for experiential and real-world learning, such as working alongside faculty on consulting projects with local businesses, managing a $4 million student-run stock portfolio, participating in the Quinnipiac Global Asset Management Education (GAME) Forum or traveling on international immersion and global solidarity trips, to name a few.
Your faculty are busy preparing for fall classes, and we encourage you to get to know them. In addition to attending class, take advantage of office hours to discuss the course material and seek faculty advice on experiential learning experiences, network building and more.
If you have any questions or just want to say hello, please stop by the School of Business or email us at SBdeans@qu.edu. Also, our student advising center is across from SB-250, and there you can find graduate assistants available during the day who can also answer your questions.
We hope you continue to have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing you on campus at our School of Business welcome event on August 23.

Dean, School of Business

Taskin Kocak, PhD
Dean of the School of Computing and Engineering
One of the greatest resources of the School of Computing and Engineering is John Bau, assistant dean for student experience and career development, who provides specialized career guidance and professional development only for the students in our school. Professor Bau has extensive knowledge of the career opportunities available for all of our computing and engineering majors. In fact, he leads a required one-credit course on professional development that most students take during their junior year. Professor Bau will help you improve your resume, your LinkedIn profile and make sure that you can leave a professional voicemail.
The main building for our programs is the Communications, Computing and Engineering building (CCE). Many of your classes will meet in this building, and it’s where you will find all of the engineering labs as well as the offices of your School of Computing and Engineering professors. Among the best amenities of the building are the reservable study spaces on the first floor and in the basement level. These are great places to meet up to work on group projects or to study on your own when you feel like you need to get out of your dorm room.
The Learning Commons is a campus-wide resource that you should use any time you need support for your study skills or when you want a peer tutor for your more challenging courses. The Learning Commons also provides first-year academic coaching for all of our students; you have probably already received email from Lauren Manginelli, the academic coach assigned to the School of Computing and Engineering. If you feel yourself starting to struggle in any of your courses, Lauren should be one of the first people you contact.
During the first few weeks of the semester, you should expect to get to know your classmates and your professors. Take advantage of the early weeks in the semester to find your professors’ offices and get to know them a little better. Each of your professors hold weekly office hours when you can drop by to get extra help or just chat about what’s coming in the rest of the year.
The beginning of the semester is a great time to get involved with campus activities, too. The School of Computing and Engineering has great clubs. Our Baja SAE team is entering its third year of competition. In each of these first two years, the club has drastically exceeded expectations. We also have a new Steel Bridge team getting started this year. Other student organizations like the Quinnipiac Computing Club, Girls Who Code and the Society of Women Engineers are always looking for new active members.
The Hard Hat Ceremony is a school-wide tradition held every spring where we celebrate student achievements in computing and engineering. Every student receives a yellow hard hat at the ceremony during their second year. In later years, students get stickers for their hats representing their major, their graduation year, and achievements like internships, research and high GPA.
Each spring semester ends with our School of Computing and Engineering Projects Day, where graduating seniors in each of our programs present their capstone projects to other students, families and invited guests. Many of our projects receive support and attention from local and regional companies. At the end of the day, our graduating seniors in engineering are inducted into the Order of the Engineer, while our computing majors take the Pledge of the Computing Professional.
We will see you for the first tradition of the year – Welcome Weekend – on August 23. We’re looking forward to meeting each of you.
Designed for students pursuing any major area of study across our 8 schools and the College of Arts and Sciences, this program is especially beneficial for underrepresented students and first-generation students.
In addition to academic mentorship from faculty, Bobcat Academy connects students with current students to serve as peer mentors here at Quinnipiac. These peer mentors help students form strong and reliable social connections with students who share similar interests and values, even if they are pursuing a different major, live in a different residence hall or come from a different part of the country.
By joining Bobcat Academy, you also are able to enroll in QU-105, a one-credit learning strategies course in the fall.
Our housing and residential life teams are putting the final touches on your housing assignments — and are on schedule to announce them in the housing portal on Thursday, August 1! If you don't receive a housing assignment, please email reslife@qu.edu. We look forward to welcoming you home. Explore first-year housing options
You are important members of our Bobcat family — and we are committed to helping you feel connected. From our commuter lounge on the second floor of the Carl Hansen Student Center on the Mount Carmel Campus to on-campus events each day throughout the academic year, there is always something to do. You're also encouraged to make friends in our residence halls and plan to attend campus events there, too. We also encourage you to attend our Engagement Fair during the first week of classes.
Quinnipiac Athletics is synonymous with success. Our student-athletes compete in 21 Division I programs and earn accolades both on and off the court, ice and field. Several of our teams — men's ice hockey, women's rugby & acrobatics and tumbling — have all brought home national championships in the past few years. Many of our teams have enjoyed a "title" wave of conference wins and NCAA Tournament appearances over the past two seasons — including men’s ice hockey, women’s ice hockey, acrobatics & tumbling, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s volleyball, women’s golf, and women’s cross country.
Around the world, our DI alumni enjoy success — including women's rugby alumna Ilona Maher '18 who has captured the hearts of millions helping lead Team USA to a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics today!
All fall athletic schedules are now live — with games set to begin before you even move on to campus! Get all the details at gobobcats.com.
Tickets (which are free for students) are required for men's and women's basketball and ice hockey, and acrobatics and tumbling. All other sports do not require tickets. Current Quinnipiac students receive links to claim free student tickets each week for upcoming games in their Quinnipiac email including, acrobatics and tumbling, basketball and hockey.
Individual game tickets can be purchased on the website or through the box office in mid-September. Learn more about individual and season tickets. The Quinnipiac Athletics box office can be reached at 203-582-3905.
Missed installments are due at the the time of enrollment.
Whether you enjoy delicious sit-down meals with friends or need to grab a wholesome snack on the way to class, our dining plans are designed with personalization and flexibility in mind.
Each plan emphasizes variety, value and convenience, and includes regular dining events and promotions, from outdoor cookouts and food truck festivals to pop-up events and holiday dinners.
We also encourage you to consider joining our student dining advisory board. Details to come at the start of the academic year.
After add/drop, we will also review balances and will refund any payments made in excess.

It's OK if you are feeling unsure about what to expect and don't have all the answers now; we're here to help you along the way. In your first semester, your COM-101 class will expose you to information and resources to guide your academic and career planning. Your professor in COM-101 is also your academic adviser, so you will have a weekly source of support, guidance and encouragement.
Check your schedule on Self-Service for your COM-101 professor’s name if you are not sure who your adviser is, and you can always reach out to SchoolOfCommunications@qu.edu if you need assistance. We look forward to getting to know you and working with you.
Our students use the skills they develop in the classroom to build successful careers. Take these four Bobcats, for example:
Jazzy Collins ’14, CSA, made history this year when she became the first Black person to be recognized with the Creative Arts Emmy for outstanding casting for a reality program for her work on “The Traitors,” which streams on Peacock. She is an alumna of the School of Communications' film, television and media arts degree program. She also delivered the keynote Commencement address for our graduates.
From earning a bachelor’s degree in communications and media studies to studying sports journalism and completing an internship at NBC News that turned into a full-time position, Clever Streich ’23, MS ’24, has navigated his way to his first Olympics coverage as a production assistant for the 2024 Olympic Games. Streich is now helping producers, on-air talent and tech crew in Stamford, Connecticut, by preparing graphics and footage for the Olympic Games.
This summer, 3+1 master’s in public relations student Riley Propersi ’25, MS ’26, learns to master the art of communication, blending her academic experience at Quinnipiac with a summer internship at Noble House Media Group. Joining the award-winning digital marketing agency as a digital marketing intern, Propersi earned an opportunity to expand upon her knowledge and experience in the communications field.
Film, television and media arts graduate Reinett Chefu ’24, MS '25, devoted her time at Quinnipiac to advocating for self-expression, fostering a welcoming environment for international students and serving as a leader in the Bobcat community. As Chefu completed her undergraduate education at Quinnipiac this past May, she left an undeniable impact on the community through her various leadership roles including president of the International Student Association (ISA), content curator and producer of the Quinnipiac University Podcast Studio, fellow of the Sawhney Leadership Program and assistant producer for the Office of Marketing and Communications.

Payments were due on Friday, July 12. If you haven't made your payment yet, please do so now in Self-Service. You can also still sign up for a payment plan.
After add/drop, we will also review balances and will refund any payments made in excess.

There's a lot of exciting opportunities headed your way this summer — most of which will come through your Quinnipiac email. Be sure to set it up and check it often. We also recommend adding it to your phone.
We appreciate your enthusiasm and excitement about joining our Quinnipiac family! Because you indicated an interest in the School of Education, you are receiving two editions of Bobcat Bound today. We look forward to welcoming you in a few weeks at Welcome Weekend!
As the dean of the School of Education, I'm thrilled to connect with you and extend my heartfelt congratulations as you embark on your college journey, especially because you expressed interest in our School of Education.
Teaching is an incredibly fulfilling profession, offering endless opportunities for growth and impact. Our caring and supportive faculty, all former educators themselves, are always available to help you understand the joys and opportunities that exist in a teaching career and to help you decide whether teaching is for you.
Once you've settled in this fall, feel free to contact me or visit us at the School of Education on the North Haven Campus. We can't wait to greet you personally and support you as you begin this exhilarating chapter of your life.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Anne M. Dichele, PhD
Dean of the School of Education
We want you to know about the fantastic support and resources available to help you thrive.
Student Support: One of the best resources in the School of Education is the MAT faculty – you will be assigned an adviser to guide and support you every step of the way to becoming a teacher.
Internships: Benefit from reduced tuition during your graduate year as you do an internship at a local school during the day and take courses in the evening.
Alumni Networking: Connect with our accomplished alumni for mentorship and career advice. Attend alumni events to expand your professional network and gain valuable insights into the field of education.
Certification and Licensure: Get support on state-level certification and licensure requirements to ensure you meet the necessary qualifications for your teaching roles.
As a first-year student, we recommend that you do two things during your first semester:
Register for ED-140: Introduction to Public Education (1 credit).
Join Quinnipiac Future Teachers Organization and meet other teacher candidates, participate in community service activities, tutor at local public schools and get involved in other university activities.
Start your professional education courses junior year on the North Haven Campus.
Learn from classroom teachers during your field study placement junior and senior year.
Benefit from career development seminars in your graduate year which include resume writing, mock interviews, cover letter writing and certification application sessions.
Designed for students pursuing any major area of study across our eight schools and the College of Arts and Sciences, this program is especially beneficial for underrepresented students and first-generation students.

There's a lot of exciting opportunities headed your way this summer — most of which will come through your Quinnipiac email. Be sure to set it up and check it often. We also recommend adding it to your phone.
On behalf of the entire School of Nursing, I want to warmly welcome you to Quinnipiac and congratulate you on your recent high school graduation. I hope that you are enjoying the summer by exploring new things, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
You are about to embark on your nursing education journey and I am so excited about what is ahead for you. Nursing is a profession with endless opportunities. As the largest profession within the healthcare industry, highly educated nurses are in great demand.
As you arrive to the university, I encourage you to begin to make connections with other students, faculty and staff while you explore our campuses and learn about the amazing opportunities offered at Quinnipiac. Early in the semester, you will learn about your membership in the Quinnipiac Student Nurses Association (QSNA). You will also learn about the many other organizations and clubs across the university. There truly is something for everyone.
I look forward to meeting you during Welcome Weekend, just a few short weeks away. Until that time, I hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer. Should you have any questions before arriving, please contact me directly at SNURDeans@qu.edu.
Regards,
Larry Z. Slater, PhD, MAc, RN-BC, CNE, FAAN
Dean and Professor, School of Nursing

More details will be sent to you as the academic year approaches.
Student-athletes thrive in the School of Nursing! We are thrilled to congratulate School of Nursing alumna Ilona Maher ’18 for helping Team USA earn a Bronze Medal in women’s rugby at the Paris Olympics Games! While a nursing student at Quinnipiac, she helped to lead Quinnipiac to a women's rugby national championship. She also was named national player of the year, was named to the NIRA All-America team and was voted Quinnipiac's female athlete of the year.
Our students are involved across Quinnipiac’s three campuses. Rebecca Agami ’24 shared a day in her life as a nursing student, including her on-campus clinical and her involvement in extracurricular activities. Rebecca graduated last spring and is now an RN at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.
Keira Hines ’25 epitomizes excellence as a nursing student in the clinical setting. As the inaugural student recipient of the DAISY award, Keira was recognized for providing exceptional care and compassion to patients and their families. “The main part of the curriculum that has had an influence on me at Quinnipiac is their emphasis on holistic care. Caring for the patient’s mind, body and soul is important, and emphasized heavily in the clinical setting,” Hines said. “I think those aspects of the curriculum have had an influence on the way that I see health and the way I care for my patients, and the way my peers apply compassion into their care.” Read more about the DAISY Award and see a Day in Keira's life.
Nursing students apply the skills they learn in the classroom, lab and clinical setting during internships and fellowships. Lauren Manning ’25 spent summer 2024 as a Flynn Fellow. This esteemed oncology fellowship allowed Lauren to care for patients at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. “Getting to take part in the Flynn Fellowship this summer was an amazing experience and showed me a passion for oncology nursing. The love for oncology nursing shown by the nurses I worked alongside encouraged me to connect with the patients I got to care for. Their strength was inspiring and taught me the importance of being present for them each day.”
School of Nursing develops students to be leaders. Six Quinnipiac Nursing students attended the National Student Nurses’ Association 72nd Annual Convention held in Orlando, FL in April. As leaders of the Quinnipiac University Student Nurse Association (QSNA) they were able to join nursing students from around the country to learn and network. All nursing students are encouraged to participate in QSNA programming.
All students have the opportunity to give back and have fun. Emersyn Conklin ’24 served as executive director of the 2024 QTHON management team. QTHON is a year-long fundraising effort led by Quinnipiac students to raise money and awareness for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. QTHON culminates in a yearly Dance Marathon, which in 2024 raised $140,977 in donations! Emersyn graduated from Quinnipiac with honors and is now working in the emergency department at Hartford Hospital.

After add/drop, we will also review balances and will refund any payments made in excess.

Undergraduate students enrolled in Fall 2024 will find their invoices on Self-Service. The first payment due date is July 12.
The Financial Aid Office is currently reviewing student FAFSAs and preparing financial aid award offers as quickly as possible. Due to the changes and delays with this year’s FAFSA, some awards are still being processed. If you have completed a FAFSA and have not yet been awarded financial aid, please check Self-Service to be sure we have not requested additional documentation from you. If you have no outstanding documents, and are still awaiting aid, please know that we are working on your offer letter and once it is ready, we will email your Quinnipiac email address.
Students who have already received their financial aid offer should accept/decline their financial aid offer (and secure loan arrangements, if applicable) by July 12. Federal student loans will not be reflected against the bill until they are accepted in Self-Service.
For the Fall 2024 term, two payment plans are offered:
2024 Fall UG/GR (Auto-Adjust): This plan covers the student’s full balance due and will automatically adjust if the amount owed changes. Therefore, if financial aid is applied, the balance due on the payment plan will automatically adjust. This adjustment can lead to an increase or decrease of the monthly payment plan. The remaining balance due will be split among the remaining payments.
2024 Fall UG/GR (Fixed Balance): This plan allows the student to determine the amount to pay via the payment plan. To make any adjustments to the amount after the first payment is due, the student needs to contact One Stop.

In Self-Service, students and proxies will be asked to consent to the statement of financial responsibility which includes Quinnipiac's withdrawal and refund policy. When students or proxies view the invoice through Self-Service and continue to "Make a Payment," the consent form will be presented.
Students will also be offered the opportunity to purchase tuition insurance. Learn more about tuition insurance.
Students who complete these tasks in a timely manner will prevent the possibility of having a financial hold placed on the account or late fees.
At the conclusion of the add/drop registration period, students may owe a balance or be owed a refund. It can take up to two weeks after add/drop for refunds to be processed. The fastest way to get a refund is to sign up for direct deposit.

Quinnipiac has enjoyed a distinguished history of educating students with a talented and dedicated faculty and a commitment to excellence. From our New Haven origins as the Connecticut College of Commerce in 1929, and later, the Junior College of Commerce, the university has become a nationally recognized institution with a wide range of academic programs, 3 campuses and a diverse learning community, including 10,000 undergraduate, graduate, law and medicine students.
Over the past few decades, we have seen substantial growth:
The total student enrollment grew more than 300% in student population
We've grown from one campus with 120 acres to 3 campuses totaling 700 acres, marking an increase of 483%
With the addition of new majors and programs, Quinnipiac’s faculty grew by more than 200%

We envision a Quinnipiac that is a model for sustainability in Southern New England, building its practices and leveraging its campuses to promote a healthy regional ecosystem, and to engage in practices that equip current and future students, faculty and staff to embody sustainable practices in their personal and professional lives, equipping them to thrive in a world increasingly influenced and affected by environmental disruption.
Quinnipiac is one of four colleges or universities in Connecticut recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree Campus, alongside approximately 400 other universities across the country. An Arbor Day Foundation program, this distinction recognizes colleges and universities for their leaders who are promoting healthy trees and engaging the community in stewardship.
The university is recognized as a pollinator-friendly campus affiliate by the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation for its commitment to attracting and sustaining pollinators. Quinnipiac has joined many other cities and campuses across the country united in improving landscape and environment for pollinators.
In both physical presence and action, Quinnipiac serves as a responsible steward of its natural resources and supports the long-term environmental sustainability of humanity on Earth. Quinnipiac promotes sustainable living through environmental communities. Students have the ability to get involved in many aspects of sustainability.
The pollinator garden at our Albert Schweitzer Institute provides food and shelter to a wide range of local pollinators, promoting a healthy ecosystem. Beyond these organisms, the pollinator garden provides opportunities for research, education and positive well-being in the greater Bobcat community.
We are all able to make sustainable lifestyle choices that promote positive change by reducing waste and recycling. Quinnipiac offers solutions for students who are looking to implement green alternatives.
Channel your passion into a career in environmental studies where you can explore the interconnectedness of the world, help conserve resources and improve our global health. Take your placement exams ASAP to ensure that you are in the most appropriate course sections for your particular skills and experience. By completing your placement exam before Orientation, you will be less likely to need to switch sections later. Log into Q-Start to get started.
When you finish answering all questions in a placement test, click the "Save and Submit" button at the bottom of the test. Then, you will be directed to a "Test Submitted" page with basic information about the test, such as your name, test name, start and submitted time, and time elapsed. This confirms that you submitted the test.
When appropriate test(s) are completed, check the "Test Summary" link in Self-Service for results on which courses to register for.
We will host six Orientation sessions throughout June to ease your transition to college. They are critical to your success — which is why we require you to attend one of them. The sessions are filling up quickly; register today on Q-Start.
All students MUST register for Orientation. It is an academic requirement because you choose courses and meet advisers for your academic focus, as well as other new Bobcats. If you have not registered yet, please do so today! The sessions begin June 10 and run through the end of June.
Incoming students are required to complete the Academic Information Form by June 15 — so that we can begin sharing and enhancing the resources our students may need for a successful Quinnipiac education and student experience. Our Academic Coaches also use this information to help ease the college-transition process.
iQ, our holistic approach to career development and experiential learning, surrounds every individual with a personalized plan that maximizes their time at Quinnipiac.
Did you know that Quinnipiac is the top-ranked university in the country for getting a job after graduation? For the third year in a row, the career site Zippia.com ranked Quinnipiac as the best college in the nation for long-term employment success 10 years after graduation.
97.4% of our graduates are either employed or pursuing advanced education within 6 months after graduating.
Nearly 3/4 of our seniors participated in at least one internship during their time at Quinnipiac.
Kafui Kouakou, assistant vice president of career development and experiential learning, describes the holistic approach the university takes to your development through a personalized plan that maximizes your time at Quinnipiac.
Quinnipiac has launched a partnership with Handshake, an innovative digital platform designed to connect you with jobs and internships.
The platform will enable you to connect, receive customized job recommendations, meet with employers to learn about company culture and career opportunities and apply in just a couple of clicks. Throughout the process, the university’s career advisers will work with you to maximize opportunities.
Designed for students pursuing any major area of study across our 8 schools and the College of Arts and Sciences, this program is especially beneficial for underrepresented students and first-generation students.

We are excited to offer you a home in our brand new residence hall, The Grove!
The Grove is amazing! It includes gathering spaces, lounges and an outdoor courtyard purposefully designed to help build community and provide support from peer mentors, faculty affiliates, resident assistants, a residence hall director and a live-in faculty fellow.
Additionally, first-year students living in The Grove will receive a peer mentor, who will get to take a course together and will work together throughout the year on a community project/big idea. There is no extra fee to live in The Grove. Sign your housing contract today, and apply to live in The Grove.
Learn more about why the faculty fellow in residence is excited about The Grove — and how it will serve as a foundation to give back and problem-solve issues with local communities.
You may also apply to live in a Living-Learning Community (LLC). The LLCs are located in other first-year residence halls and offer students the opportunity to work with a faculty member and a dedicated resident assistant to develop skills and friendships with other students who share similar interests and/or identities.
You will be engaged with a variety of activities, discussions and programs. Students who join LLCs are more engaged with faculty and peers, feel a stronger sense of connection with the university and typically have higher GPAs and graduation rates.
There are no additional fees for joining an LLC. Please note: The Grove does not include an LLC. Sign your housing contract today, and apply to live in an LLC.
Incoming students are required to complete the Academic Information Form no later than one week before their approved Orientation session — so that we can begin sharing and enhancing the resources our students may need for a successful Quinnipiac education and student experience. Student invoices will be available in mid-June. An email will be sent to all students at that time to notify them that the invoices are ready.
By July 12, to avoid being charged late fees or a hold being placed on your account, please:
remit payment in full,
enroll in a payment plan (must be enrolled in a payment plan by July 11 for the first payment to occur on July 12), and/or
ensure you have secured financial aid or loans.
Students may authorize a proxy (parent, guardian, spouse or other individual) to have access to Self-Service to make payments.
All students are required to sign a financial consent. This is accomplished via the payment portal or in the user agreement section of Self-Service.
Meal plan modifications are not available until August. Invoices will be adjusted at that time to reflect the selected meal plan. Students who opt for a higher priced plan will owe a balance at that time. Students who reduce their plan will have a credit applied.
Students, please keep a lookout for our email in mid-June alerting you that invoices are ready.
Immunization documentation is required for all incoming students. All students will need to register for the Quinnipiac Immunization Portal upon first login.
All students must maintain medical insurance throughout their time as a student at Quinnipiac. The university offers a health insurance plan designed for students through Gallagher Student Health, which provides coverage for illness and injuries that occur on and off campus, and includes special cost-saving features to make the coverage as affordable as possible.
Students may waive Gallagher health insurance coverage if they present evidence of other health insurance, including coverage under a parent’s or guardian’s plan. The plan must provide equal or greater benefit coverage to that of Gallagher Student Health.
Health insurance charges appear on all invoices by default. Students have a deadline of August 31 to waive health insurance if they have equal coverage with another carrier. Students who opt-out of the Quinnipiac plan will find the charge removed from their invoice in seven business days. Insurance waivers approved after July 12 will generate a credit on student’s account.
Please note: Students must either choose to opt in or opt out of health insurance.
