Visiting our campuses is a great way for prospective undergraduate students to experience some of our academic offerings, career opportunities, student life and our residence halls. They are encouraged to register for a Preview Day, group info session and tour, or meet one-on-one with an admissions counselor. We also offer numerous virtual opportunities for students to get to know Quinnipiac.
The application process can be a daunting experience for any student. We are here to make the journey as smooth as possible. We've outlined some simple steps in the process for first-year and transfer students below, but please call our office with any questions: 203-582-8600.
Within 48 hours of submitting an application, the student will receive an acknowledgment email that will contain instructions on how to access their status portal to see a checklist of admissions credentials required for application review. Learn more about the application process below.

Review the Advanced Standing/Placement policy
Quinnipiac grants credit for Advanced Placement (AP) courses completed in high school. To receive consideration for credit, applicants must take the AP exam and receive a minimum score dependent on the course.
Quinnipiac also gives credit for college courses completed as part of the high school curriculum. Applicants must request that an official college transcript be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for evaluation. Courses completed with a grade of “C” or higher, which are part of our regular curriculum, will transfer.
If students have taken an IB curriculum, we will consider awarding advanced standing for higher level courses, based on a minimum exam grade of 5.
Advanced standing or placement will be considered for entering first-year students who have successfully completed college-level credit courses (with a grade of C or better on an official transcript) through a regionally accredited college or university, or who have achieved an acceptable score on an appropriate examination:

A student who has completed courses at an institution not granting degrees, or who has extensive experience in a specialized field, may submit College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam scores to help determine placement according to the following table. A minimum CLEP exam score of 50 is required for transfer credit. Quinnipiac University does not accept CLEP credits earned after a student is matriculated.

Quinnipiac University accepts select University of Cambridge International Advanced Level (A-Level) examinations. Students earning grades of A, B, or C on the A-Level exams may be eligible to earn transfer credit. A-Level exams will be evaluated based on the following course equivalencies. Quinnipiac University will not award transfer credit for AS or O-level exams. An official transcript with the course syllabi should be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for review.

Quinnipiac University grants credit to students who complete CAPE Unit I or Unit II exams with grades of I to III, which are equivalent to grades of A to B. Quinnipiac will only award credit once the official CAPE Unit I or Unit II certificate has been issued. Once you have received your official CAPE exam certificate, either have your school make an official photocopy of the original by stamping the copy as official or submit the original exam certificate to the Office of International Admissions. A certified photocopy will be made, and the original certificate(s) will be returned to you.

An unofficial evaluation of credit is completed as part of the evaluation process for transfer students. Quinnipiac University normally grants transfer credit for college-level courses appropriate to the chosen curriculum completed with a grade of C or better at a regionally accredited college or university. The maximum number of transfer credits that may be accepted by Quinnipiac University is 90 credits.
Students enrolled in the online degree-completion programs should review the program pages on the website for program-specific transfer credit policies. Certain majors may request course completion within a five-year period. Official transfer of credit occurs once an admitted student matriculates into a program of study.
Regardless of the number of transfer credits accepted, students must meet specific major, school and university requirements, which may necessitate additional credits or semesters of study in order to complete their degree.
