Dave Beaton earned an associate’s degree in occupational and fire safety and his bachelor’s degree in fire science administration from the University of New Haven in 1993. Dave first came to Quinnipiac in 1998 and balances his work in admissions with his service as a professional firefighter for the Town of Hamden. He is currently assigned to Squad 1/Rescue 1 at nearby Whitney Avenue Station. He recruits for Quinnipiac in the state of Connecticut, including lower New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties. Dave’s wife, Elizabeth, is an associate director of financial aid at Quinnipiac. Their son, Michael, is currently a graduate student at Quinnipiac and serves the admissions office as a student ambassador, while their daughter, Sydney, is a senior at Stonehill College. Dave is proud to be an Eagle Scout and was recently named president emeritus of Hamden Firefighters Local 2687. He enjoys daily walks along Long Island Sound and working for numerous community-based organizations. He is an avid fan of all professional Boston sports teams, particularly his beloved Red Sox.
