John Powers, PhD, is assistant professor and director of the Interactive Media and Communications graduate program in the School of Communications. His courses and research focus on social media, interactive writing, and digital communication.
Dr. Powers has over 16 years of teaching experience on the university level, and previously worked in communication leadership roles at Yale University, Adelbrook Behavioral Health, and Midstate Medical Center. He received his Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University, his Master's Degree in Education from Southern CT State University, and his undergraduate degree in Public Relations from Boston University.
