Michael A. Mayo, DMSc, PA-C, MSPAS, EMT-P is Clinical Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and Director of Simulation, Interprofessional Education, and Point of Care Ultrasound at Quinnipiac University. Michael is a nationally certified and state licensed Physician Assistant practicing in Cardiac Surgery and Critical Care Medicine. Prior to obtaining his Physician Assistant certification, Michael practiced as a Paramedic throughout Connecticut for over 10 years. His passion for pre-hospital medicine carried over into education teaching Paramedic students and obtaining his ACLS, PALS, and BLS instructor certifications.
Michael obtained his Bachelor of Science from Springfield College focusing on Human Biology, his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of St. Josephs in Connecticut, and his Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg. He attended the Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Residency associated with Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine.
