Pat Boily
Associate Dean for Administration and Finance
Professor of Biology
Patrice Boily is Associate Dean for Administration and Finance in the College of Arts and Sciences, and a Professor of Biological Sciences. Boily earned a BS in Biology from the Université de Sherbrooke, and a PhD in Zoology from the University of Guelph (both in Canada). Before joining Quinnipiac University, Boily was a Professor of Biology at Western Connecticut State University for 16 years, where he served as Chair of the Department of Biology and as Assistant Dean of the Macricostas School of Arts and Sciences. Prior to that, he was a faculty member of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of New Orleans for ten years.
His academic expertise is in the field of animal physiology, with an emphasis on energy balance and temperature regulation of animals. He published numerous studies on subjects such as heat loss in marine mammals, swimming efficiency in fishes, and body weight regulation in mammals. He has taught a wide variety of courses, ranging from introductory biology courses for non-science majors to graduate courses in environmental physiology.
