Renée Tursi joined the Department of English in 2011. Her research focuses on the intersection of American philosophical pragmatism and literature. In 2017 she received a Fulbright Faculty Scholar Award for research in Montréal. She has an essay on the novelist Marilynne Robinson forthcoming in Contemporary Literature. Her previous essays have appeared in Emily Dickinson and Philosophy (Cambridge UP, 2013), and numerous academic journals. Her book reviews have appeared in the New York Times Book Review, the Washington Post Book World, and the Times Literary Supplement.
