Richard A Zeff, Ph.D
Professor and Chair, Department of Medical Sciences
Dr. Richard Zeff received his PhD in Immunology from Rush University, Chicago, IL and performed postdoctoral studies in the Department of Cell Biology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. Prior to his current position as Professor and Chair of the Department of Medical Sciences, and Senior Associate Dean for Scholarship at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, he was Professor in the Department of Immunology and Assistant Dean for Admissions at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington, CT.
Zeff is the recipient of an Established Investigator Award from the National Center of the American Heart Association. He served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Immunology and was on the editorial board of the Proceedings of the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine. He also served on the National Board of Medical Examiners USMLE Step 1 Test Material Development Committee in Microbiology.
Zeff devotes a significant amount of his time to teaching immunology and has received recognition for outstanding teaching in the basic medical sciences. His research interests over many years have been directed to understanding the regulation of the Major Histocompatibility Complex in antigen processing and presentation.
