Welcome to Orientation 2024!

Information for Parents and Families

At Orientation, you begin your journey as a Bobcat! Our program is designed to help you and your family begin acclimating to our community. As you become acquainted with our campuses, you’ll register for courses and learn about resources and services from a variety of campus partners. We’ll teach you about our traditions, and we’ll help connect you with other incoming students and their families. Each session will offer programs for both students and family members.

We know the decision to send your child to study at Quinnipiac is a huge commitment. Here are some opportunities to help you stay connected to your Bobcat.

Join us for our 2024 Regional Family Welcome Receptions

Join us this summer and connect with fellow Quinnipiac Bobcats from your area! Incoming first-year and transfer students and their families are invited to meet current Quinnipiac students and members of the university’s academic leadership team, who will answer questions and share their insights into the QU experience. This is a great way to get to know other families before move-in day!

Gifts to the Quinnipiac Family Fund support high-impact experiential learning opportunities providing current students the opportunity to attend enriching programs, conferences, and to travel and present research. Family Fund gifts also support Provost and Chief Experience Officer initiatives that enhance and contribute to the student experience.

What is the Quinnipiac Family Fund?

The Quinnipiac Family Fund includes unrestricted and restricted gifts that provide the university with funding to support students and faculty.

Why is the Quinnipiac Family Fund vital to the university?

Support from parents makes an immediate impact on students and helps Quinnipiac to provide programs, such as:

  • First-year seminars and experiences

  • Common intellectual experiences

  • Learning communities

  • Writing-intensive courses

  • Collaborative assignments and projects

  • Undergraduate research

  • Diversity education and global learning

  • Service learning and community-based learning

  • Student Life programs and services

  • New and innovative opportunities to engage students outside the classroom

  • Physical improvements such as firepits and an e-sports facility

  • Student-led innovative community activities

Will my gift make a difference?

Participation is the cornerstone of the Quinnipiac Family Fund. Gifts, in any amount, generate additional resources for the university, and demonstrate support and enthusiasm for the education Quinnipiac provides. In turn, foundations, corporations and other funding organizations are motivated to support universities whose own communities invest heavily in the success and future of the institution.

Parents and Family Leadership Council

Show your Bobcat pride: Join the Quinnipiac Parents and Family Leadership Council!

Interested in joining? As members of the Parents and Families Leadership Council, we invite you to directly engage in and join a partnership focusing on the continued success of Quinnipiac. As a member, you will be invited to two meetings per academic year with university leadership and fellow council members, receive exclusive parent email updates and have the opportunity to attend many invitation-only receptions, including parent and family networking and social events. Members receive multiple opportunities to meet, advise and network with university leadership and administration, deans, faculty, staff and fellow families.

While each family customizes their experience to meet their family needs, the only requirement to join is a desire to help make a difference with an annual leadership gift in support of the university’s priorities and initiatives.

Benefits of joining the Quinnipiac Parents and Family Leadership Council:

  • To serve as ambassadors for the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents of Quinnipiac University through engagement, career development, and philanthropy

  • Presentations by administration, faculty, staff and others about how your student can maximize their QU experience

  • Invitations to special receptions with Bobcat families, President Olian, and university leadership
