About Professor Kathleen Simione

Professor Kathleen Simione is a champion for gender equality and inclusive excellence. Kathleen Simione earned her MBA from Quinnipiac University and a BS in accounting from Bentley University. She holds a registered CPA certificate in Connecticut and is an associate professor of accounting. Her primary teaching area is management accounting. Prior to entering academia, she worked in both public and private accounting. Her research has examined a variety of accounting and auditing issues, topics in business education, and the role of mentoring in the workplace and in student life. Her work has been published in the Journal of Accounting and Finance Research, Career Development International, the Journal of the Academy of Business Education, the Academy of Accounting and Financial Studies Journal, the Journal of the International Academy for Case Studies, the Business Studies Journal and the Journal of Applied Research in Higher Education. Simione is a Quinnipiac University 2011 Excellence in Teaching Award winner and a 2014 James Marshall Service award winner. She is a co-founder and was the director of the Center for Women & Business at Quinnipiac and is now the director emerita for the newly renamed M&T Bank Center for Women & Business.
