For Quinnipiac’s Dance Team, competing at the Universal Dance Association’s College Nationals has been a staple in their season since 2022. This year the team finished in fifth place for Division I Gameday and eighth for Division I Pom.

The 22 dancers led by Coach Kelley Zaleta are making history for the Quinnipiac Dance Team program and remaining one of the top dance programs in the nation.

For the seniors, they’ve made history as part of the first team to go to the UDA Nationals and as one of the regular top 10 winners for the past four years.

“I’m incredibly proud to be a part of this team’s history and legacy,” said Gia Iwanec ’25, a four-year member of the team. “It’s all thanks to our amazing coach, Kelley. You’ve taught me what it truly means to be a Bobcat.”

It isn’t just the seniors who have had an excellent experience.

“We really have each other’s backs, and that sense of community is what makes the experience so special,” said co-captain Jacquelyn DuBois ’27. “I was really homesick my first year and my teammates were always there with whatever I needed.”
