The all-time winningest coach in Quinnipiac women’s basketball history, Fabbri led the Bobcats on a thrilling ride to the NCAA Sweet 16, rewriting the record books at Quinnipiac and establishing what stands as one of the greatest single-seasons by any program in university history. Quinnipiac became just the fourth 12th seed in NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament history to advance to the Sweet 16.

At season’s end, Fabbri’s Bobcats achieved two more program-firsts as Quinnipiac earned the No. 23 ranking in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll to earn a national-ranking for the first time in program history. In addition, Quinnipiac was voted the top mid-major program in the nation in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll, marking the first time the program has earned the No. 1 ranking in the mid-major ranking poll. In addition, the Bobcats finished 29-7 overall to complete their sixth straight 20-win season while advancing to a fifth straight appearance in the conference championship game, sixth straight trip to a national postseason tournament and earning a third straight MAAC Regular Season title.

A Quinnipiac coaching legend, Fabbri joins legendary coaches Burt Kahn, Dan “Skip” Gooley, Mike Quitko and Rand Pecknold one of just five head coaches to win 350-plus games in their time with the Bobcats. Fabbri reached the 350-win plateau in the 2016 WNIT First Round as Quinnipiac throttled Maine, 90-44, at home in what signified the largest winning margin in the program’s NCAA Division I history (since 1998-99) as well as the first national postseason tournament win.

Off the court, Fabbri prides her program in obtaining success in the classroom as well — where her players regularly carry a team GPA exceeding 3.0.

The Bobcats are regularly recognized by the NCAA for strong Academic Progress Ratings (APR). The first full-time coach, and first female head coach in Quinnipiac history, Fabbri has also mentored a number of All-Academic honorees.

Last summer, Fabbri was appointed to the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Competition Committee. Fabbri was also named to the WBCA Diversity & Inclusion Focus Group. Made up of NCAA Division I head coaches and administrators, the WBCA board leans on the group for advice and opinions on matters of diversity and inclusion which will be used by the committee and WBCA staff.
