“Whether you are a Golden Bobcat or you’re graduating this year, we want you to participate,” said Calamita.
A proud supporter of Quinnipiac, Calamita has served on the Alumni Association Board since 2015.
Under his leadership, the board is poised to continue strengthening ties among Quinnipiac’s 70,000 graduates and enhance opportunities for them to remain connected with the university, said Heather Alpaugh, assistant vice president for alumni engagement.
“We are excited to welcome Paul Calamita as the new president of the Alumni Association Board,” Alpaugh said. “Paul’s deep involvement with Quinnipiac and its alumni community has demonstrated his dedication to the university's success and reflects his passion for fostering meaningful connections among alumni.”
“Our population of alumni and talent is truly exciting,” Calamita said. “But what also excites me is how this alumni group has expanded and refocused its efforts around the community, the school and the students themselves.”
Calamita is a partner at RSM US LLP, serving as leader within the firm’s management consulting practice. A licensed CPA, Calamita has over 30 years of experience working with Fortune 500 and middle-market organizations and is recognized for building trust and fostering collaboration across challenging engagements to deliver measurable improvements in operational and financial performance. Calamita and his wife, Susan, have two children, Sarah and Andrew, ’16, MBA ’17.
Calamita said he’s honored to support Quinnipiac as the new president of the very talented, dedicated and deeply involved alumni association board.
“To me, they are the true heroes and champions. They are the ones that are helping to drive our mission, and they bring that level of excitement that makes it exciting for me to participate. Every single one of them is leaning in to make an impact on Quinnipiac’s focus on our students, the university community and making our mark as the top private university,” he said.

“One of the things that I enjoy about being at the table is that there are a lot of talented alumni that can help us think critically about new opportunities,” said Calamita. “We want to hear their voices. When we have more people communicating, it accelerates the opportunities for everyone.”
He also encourages more alumni to engage with the university community.
“There are so many great opportunities to get involved, and those that are engaged are just loving it,” said Calamita.
On a personal note, Calamita said reconnecting with today’s Quinnipiac community can be an especially fulfilling alumni experience.
“The talent I’ve encountered in the young men and women at Quinnipiac is exceptional. They are sharp, smart and tenacious. They’re very focused on bringing the best they can possibly bring to the table, and that’s what Quinnipiac University is all about,” he said.
Calamita said many of Quinnipiac’s talented alumni have the ability to help guide student success on a professional level.
“The alumni can have a huge effect on our graduating students and those that are here today,” said Calamita. “Many of us who are in our careers are now in a position to assist and help Quinnipiac students in finding a path, finding a career and giving them opportunities to swing at the plate.”
In addition to helping enrich the student experience, alumni participation in the university community offers opportunities for them to progress both personally and professionally and ultimately supports Quinnipiac in becoming the University of the Future.
“We look forward to working alongside Paul as he leads the Alumni Association Board into an exciting future,” said Alpaugh. “His dedication and enthusiasm will undoubtedly strengthen the bond between Quinnipiac and our alumni.”
