Quinnipiac's M&T Bank Arena was electrified Sunday night as rapper Offset performed for more than 2,500 students at the Student Programming Board's annual Wake the Giant concert.
SPB incorporated students into the show this year by having student openers, including Peter Cestaro and DJ Kahlucah.
The energy in the arena caught the attention of the headliner, Offset, who went into the crowd and took photos on several students' phones.
The event's chair, Brandon Assi '24, a biomedical sciences major, said he felt ecstatic about how Wake the Giant went.
"It was an incredible full-circle moment for myself and my team and were able to see all of the work, thought and effort that we put into the event fully realized in the space the way we had envisioned it. Personally, it truly was the greatest feeling in the world to see this event up on its feet with a ton of people having a blast, I couldn't have asked for anything better," said Assi.
SPB President Grace Claudio '23, a nursing major, shared her pride in the event's success.
"From Brandon, the mainstage chair, all of the directors, and all of the volunteers: their hard work really paid off," said Claudio.
