On her Fulbright during the 2022-23 academic year, Parks researched how healthcare organizations operationalize business analytics and artificial intelligence in Morocco and identified the key challenges faced by healthcare organizations.
Her work is framed by the premise that future public health crises cannot be mitigated without special attention to the responsiveness of developing countries, based on the way the COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately affected different countries.
Parks’ research is intended to deepen the theoretical understanding and enable her to propose practical guidelines to support improved integration of healthcare analytics and AI in developing countries.
Since returning to the United States, Parks has spoken at international conferences and shared insights in seminars based on her Fulbright research on healthcare digitalization and AI. She was a keynote speaker at the Health Information Technology Symposium in Copenhagen, Denmark and a featured scholar in the Kennesaw State University Seminar Series.
At Quinnipiac, she has shared her insights in classrooms and at open houses, mentored Fulbright applicants and spoken at a local chamber of commerce meeting. She has also been selected to serve on an AI strategy subcommittee at Quinnipiac.
“I am immensely grateful for being selected as a Fulbright scholar alumni ambassador,” Parks said. “I look forward to promoting the Fulbright program's opportunities, fostering academic exchanges that bridge cultures and enriching the global academic community. I am grateful to the U.S. Department of State and the Institute of International Education for this incredible opportunity, as well as to Quinnipiac for supporting my research pursuits and nurturing my intellectual curiosity.”
