Quinnipiac and Hartford Promise have announced a new scholarship that will be available to current Hartford Promise scholars who enroll at Quinnipiac.

Under this new agreement, Quinnipiac will match Hartford Promise’s $5,000 per year scholarship for eligible students with a university scholarship that is renewable for up to four years or the completion of their undergraduate program, whichever comes first.

“Quinnipiac is excited to partner with Hartford Promise on our shared commitment to the success of these students,” said Victoria McNeil, the university’s director of financial aid. “This holistic partnership will support eligible Hartford students financially, academically and socially.”

Tom Ellett, chief experience officer at the university, agreed.

“Quinnipiac University is proud to collaborate with a partner who is a leader in supporting access for high school students in the Hartford area to continue their dream of a college education,” Ellett said.

“We believe that the funding that both parties are contributing to Hartford youth will make significant impacts in the future of our society.”

As part of the partnership agreement, Quinnipiac will provide Hartford Promise and its accepted students with admissions and financial aid single-point contacts, invite Hartford Promise scholars to participate in the Summer Bridge transition program to assist with their transition to college life, and offer counseling and internship opportunities.

“Hartford Promise is so pleased to have Quinnipiac University as a new college partner,” said Richard Sugarman, president of the organization. “This partnership will create more opportunity and access for talented Hartford students to attend this great university. We are thrilled to see what lies ahead.”
