The sorority leaders earned the Northeast Greek Leadership Association’s Amy Vojta Impact Award for developing an innovative method of encouraging its membership to excel in the classroom. Historically, members of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Quinnipiac have higher grade point averages than other students.

“It showcases not only how the Quinnipiac Panhellenic Council strives to encourage Greek women to maintain high grade point averages, but it also demonstrates how the women in the Panhellenic community share this common goal to maintain high standards and good grades,” said Sami Eisenberg, president of the Panhellenic Council. “The initiative was innovative, unique and without a doubt successful, and these characteristics are what made Quinnipiac Panhellenic stand out.”

The council encouraged its members to get more involved in their academics,” Sami said.

They created a social media presence dedicated to scholarship, and populated by user-generated content. Each month, prizes would be awarded.

“The program was successful,” she said. “The originality definitely played a large factor, as it is something not many other universities have seen before.”
