“This was a rigorous process that started early last year and included the hiring of Spencer Stuart; establishment of a search committee by the Board of Trustees; creation of an Advisory Committee composed of administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni and parents; campus-wide soundings that were designed to obtain feedback from all in the QU community and the surfacing of hundreds of potential candidates,” Chuck Saia, chairman of the Quinnipiac Board of Trustees, wrote in an email to students, faculty and staff on Monday.
The Quinnipiac Board of Trustees voted unanimously in support of appointing the university’s 10th president on January 14.
“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your active participation in the process of selecting our new Quinnipiac president,” Saia continued in his email. “Your dedication, insights and engagement have been invaluable throughout this important journey. This is an exciting time for our entire community.”
Throughout the past year, the university community offered feedback to the search committee.
“The selection process has been a true reflection of our community's commitment to excellence and collaboration,” Saia wrote. “Your contributions, whether through attending forums, providing feedback, or completing the community survey, have been instrumental in the search committee's process and goal of finding a leader who embodies our values and vision for the future. Thank you for your unwavering support.”
Judy Olian, Quinnipiac’s ninth president, announced last August she would step down at the end of this academic year on June 30, 2025. She has served as president since July 1, 2018.
“President Olian has been, and continues to be, an invaluable ally in bringing a new president to Quinnipiac, and we are grateful for her leadership,” Saia said. “Together, we will continue to shape the future of our university.”
Information about our 10th president will be shared via a special edition of Quinnipiac Today on Thursday afternoon as well as across the university’s flagship social media accounts.
