Quinnipiac University will host the traveling exhibition, “Physician Assistants: Collaboration and Care,” a display of six roll-up graphic banners, throughout the fall semester.

The exhibition, on loan from the National Library of Medicine, is free and open to the public. It will be on display from Aug. 29-Sept. 6 inside the Arnold Bernard Library on the Mount Carmel Campus.

From Sept. 9-Oct. 3, “Physician Assistants: Collaboration and Care,” will be exhibited at the Edward and Barbara Netter Library on the North Haven Campus.

Viewing hours for both venues are 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

“It’s a traveling exhibition,” said Shahana Theriault, clinical assistant professor of Physician Assistant Studies and director of didactic education. “We have been hoping we would be selected to feature it here at Quinnipiac University. It is comprised of six scrolls that really outline the history of the profession and the components that make it collaborative and interprofessional.”

Theriault said Bill Kohlhepp, professor emeritus, along with Lisa Adriani and Gina Addona from the Netter Library, were instrumental in bringing the exhibition to Quinnipiac. The physician assistant department also will plan educational events centered around the exhibition for aspiring and current PA students.

“It’s a big deal and we are thrilled to display these scrolls here,” Theriault said of the display. “It spreads a lot of awareness about the profession and what it means to be a PA, how to collaborate with others on a healthcare team and how to continue advancing the profession.”
