Foodies, dancers and yoga enthusiasts alike can all enjoy the opportunities the center provides.
Are you a fan of the cardio and Latin-inspired fitness program, Zumba? Register for a class any Sunday through Thursday this semester. The course rotates between three different instructors who engage participants in an hour-long dance workout. Students of any level are welcome to sign up.
Not into a high-energy class? Harp meditation and mindfulness may be an excellent fit. This weekly course on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. helps students unwind and refocus. It is designed to fit conveniently into the typical busy day at Quinnipiac and incorporate relaxation into someone’s mindset.
If you are looking to strengthen your muscles or learn lifting techniques, there are many options offered for your convenience. The strength 101 course teaches participants about the beginning steps of weightlifting, designed to increase confidence and improve resistance training.
If you are interested in challenging yourself even more, the strengthen and sweat class focuses on toning your body and enhancing your muscle tone. Another course that may work into your schedule could be the pumped-up strength workout, which touches on improving lean muscle mass and metabolism.
Another unique gym experience are the dozen yoga classes that take place each week. With a variety of session times and seven different instructors, there is sure to be a time of day that works for you. Yoga is meant to balance one’s body and push both the limits of your mind and body.
There is something from which any student can benefit in the facility, any time of the week.
More workout opportunities offered at the Recreation and Wellness Center on the Mount Carmel Campus, as well as the York Hill Campus, are listed on recwell.qu.edu.
A $500 FAFSA Incentive Grant will be applied to the financial aid offer of admitted first-year students who complete the FAFSA by January 15, 2025.
