Chapters are recognized based on operations, chapter programming and professional development of members, support of the human resource profession and SHRM management.
“The dedication displayed by SHRM@QU underscores that the future of the profession is in good hands,” said Michael Aitken, SHRM chief membership officer. “I commend their achievements and their adeptness in cultivating inventive initiatives, growth and enthusiasm for HR, especially as we steer through evolving work landscapes.”
This is the organization’s ninth superior merit award, which was created to recognize activities and projects by good standing chapters. The executive council works to provide human resource connections to its members, through open forums and information exchanges.
Amy Sherman served as the organization’s secretary during the 2022-2023 academic year and is currently the president for the 2023-2024 academic year.
“Winning a SHRM superior merit award with my fellow 2022-2023 officers is an incredible accomplishment,” Sherman said. “We all worked super hard to host fun events and have guest speakers throughout the school year. Some notable events were our induction ceremony and Diversity and Inclusion Day. Winning this award would not have been possible without our incredible e-board and, most importantly, our chapter members.”
A $500 FAFSA Incentive Grant will be applied to the financial aid offer of admitted first-year students who complete the FAFSA by January 15, 2025.
