Aligning faculty expertise with strategic workforce needs, Quinnipiac’s Department of Lifelong Learning is offering two new unique, instantly actionable programs designed to meet the moment for industry leaders: Blockchain Mastery for Executives and Strategic Healthcare Management.

Completed in just three days, participants in either program will earn a Level IV badge, Quinnipiac’s highest level of micro-credential. Enrollment is underway now for Spring 2025 sessions in February and Fall 2025 sessions in October.

Blockchain Mastery for Executives offers an exceptional opportunity for cutting-edge leaders from any industry to improve efficiency and innovate as they learn to leverage this new technology to improve business and customer outcomes. The unique opportunity to work with experienced faculty and build valuable skills in a compressed timeline is part of the Quinnipiac difference, said Alison Witherspoon, Director of Lifelong Learning.

“Very few universities or executive education and workforce organizations are offering programming in blockchain at this time, because it is so novel and constantly evolving,” Witherspoon said. “We’re able to leverage our faculty expertise and support business innovation through this program in a way that really isn’t being addressed by any competitor at this point.”

Led by Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and Information Systems Tan Gürpinar, the online Blockchain Mastery program is designed to demystify the use of profitable blockchain solutions for business leaders. Leaders will come away with the ability to apply the knowledge to generate actual business value.

“Professor Gürpinar is an amazing expert in his field who recently joined Quinnipiac from the corporate space, and has been a leading voice in blockchain globally for many years,” said Witherspoon.

Such expertise and experience is another proud point of distinction that Quinnipiac brings to these new programs.

“Our faculty are experts in their fields, but they are also experts that have a wide range of practical knowledge from a whole host of different areas, such as our faculty members in the Strategic Healthcare Program,” said Witherspoon.

The in-person Strategic Healthcare Management program is designed to maximize the impact of existing and growing leaders who have excelled within their healthcare careers. A focus on retention and hiring will help healthcare leaders strategically address workforce needs, while fueling the potential within existing employees to strengthen the healthcare industry.

To target exact development needs among healthcare leadership teams, Quinnipiac developed the program with input from healthcare industry leaders at several partner organizations in Connecticut and the region.

“Combining those insights with our faculty expertise has enabled us to feel very confident that this program is targeting the specific areas that these leaders need to continue to grow,” said Witherspoon.

The program also fills an industry need for just-in-time leadership growth opportunities.

“When we looked at other healthcare management non-degree programs in this region, nearly all of them require several months to complete. Our program is the most substantive in the shortest time frame,” said Witherspoon. “Instead of spending three to six months completing a certificate program, they’re able to complete our Strategic Healthcare Management program in just three days, which is what makes the program so competitive.”

Professor of psychology Carrie Bulger brings an amazing background in organizational leadership and organizational psychology to the program. Through her specific and unique lens, leaders will learn how to build strong, cohesive teams that can have a powerful impact on achieving goals.

The program also delivers exceedingly valuable healthcare management training led by School of Business associate professor of management Nitish Patidar, a healthcare industry leadership veteran.

“We marry those points of expertise in a way that creates a synergy that you might not find if you’re receiving training from one expert healthcare faculty. At Quinnipiac, we can bring different perspectives together,” Witherspoon said.

In addition to formal training provided by expert faculty, critical networking opportunities have been built into each program, Witherspoon noted.

“Participants will be applying what they learn in the program and be able to take it back to their workplace immediately. Everyone will also leave these programs with an expanded network of colleagues and continue to grow those relationships after the programs conclude,” said Witherspoon.
