The department's primary goal is to generate additional revenue by planning a broad portfolio of events on campus. By leveraging the beautiful facilities and resources available on all three campuses, the university aims to attract our local community, corporate partners, alumni and beyond to host their events.
The Conferences & Events team will manage event risks, streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Bringing more guests to campus will expand partnerships and increase brand visibility. The department will oversee the coordination of events, including identifying appropriate locations, reserving spaces and managing other event logistics such as facilities requirements, IT support and catering needs.
While the department's initial focus will be on the external community and partners, the goal is to gradually expand to include supporting internal departments with consultation or planning for their large-scale events. In the meantime, Quinnipiac students, staff, and faculty can continue to utilize campus partners through the current process.
The university is excited to welcome Shannon LeGault ’99 as the associate vice president to lead this initiative. Shannon brings over 20 years of event management experience, including her recent role with Yale’s Conferences & Events and previous work with Omni Hotels. Her strategic expertise will help develop new policies and procedures to optimize the use of event spaces year-round, including during the summer months.
Additionally, the university is pleased to announce Charity Kuchyt ’07 was promoted to director of conferences and events this past summer. With over 10 years of event experience at Quinnipiac, including working in Events while a Quinnipiac student, Charity has built strong relationships with campus partners and local vendors, offering invaluable insight and support to the team.
