Quinnipiac’s women’s track and field team had a strong showing last weekend at the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend — shattering university records and representing Bobcat Nation well.

With 153 total points, the team achieved the second-highest point total at the championships. The team earned six first-place finishes and 13 podium finishes.

Several standout student-athletes achieved milestones — reaching personal triumphs and establishing their individual success.

First-year student Shaelyn Murphy kicked off the meet by winning the jump-off — leading to the high jump title —which locked in the team’s first gold medal of the weekend. First-year student Olivia Debellis left her mark by setting a new program record in pole vault, reaching 3.60 meters in her event.

First-year student Ashlynn Witt earned Most Outstanding Field Rookie and third-year Rylie Smith earned Most Outstanding Track Performer.

Second-year student Nyasia Dailey celebrated her first MAAC title of Fastest Woman, by winning the 60 meter dash with a record of 7.60 seconds. Third-year student Rylie Smith won the 200 meter dash, along with the 400 meter dash, and fourth-year Ally Zaffina won the mile. Ending the meet strong and bringing home the sixth first-place title of the night was Rylie Smith, second-year student Isabella Anzaldo, second-year student Sydney Lavelle and fourth-year student Alyssa Romagnoli in the 4x400 meter relay.
