Program Overview
In this minor, you’ll gain the knowledge and rhetorical skills necessary to protect your individual rights, conduct business and work within the law. Requirements in legal writing and logical reasoning develop your ability to think and communicate effectively, and also enable you to understand a range of complex legal procedures and documents. Courses examine issues of justice, equality and human rights on both a domestic and global scale, as well as the tension between the rights of individuals and the public interest. Electives covering such topics as business law, health care law and negotiations allow you to tailor the minor to your professional goals. The minor is not designed to prepare students to work as paralegals and is not ABA approved.
