With incredibly high demand in the marketplace and starting salaries that reflect it, a degree in accounting is as versatile and challenging as it is lucrative and rewarding. From auditing a global business to assisting in a massive fraud investigation, our AACSB-accredited BS in Accounting program enables you to live at the intersection of business and technology.
Your Experience
By providing an understanding of an organization’s story through its numbers, an accounting degree helps you to inform various decision-makers and to make strategic decisions. In fact, CEOs and company presidents often come from accounting backgrounds because of their capacity to see the broader financial picture.
The accounting program at Quinnipiac University School of Business provides a foundation in the principles, concepts and practices of accounting, and equips graduates with general business knowledge along with technical expertise that is necessary for success in early careers in accounting and related fields. The program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a designation enjoyed by only a select few accounting programs regionally. AACSB accreditation proves that our curriculum meets the highest standards required in the accounting profession.
A degree in accounting opens the door to a diverse range of careers, including public or corporate accounting, not-for-profit or governmental accounting, and careers in related fields. Today’s accountants are trusted and people-oriented professionals who are relied upon to solve a variety of business problems.
Our program has deep connections in both the business and technology world. At our career fairs and networking events on campus, we host representatives from the large international accounting firms, regional and local accounting firms, and various corporations, many of whom are alumni of our program. Students have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the classroom in real-world settings through internships, and many of our accounting majors receive job offers the summer before their senior year.
