Our all-digital media production environment resources and opportunities you need to master the specialized and increasingly technical skills required by employers in the fields of media and communications.

You'll have access to:

  • 90+ media workstations with advanced technology such as the Adobe Master Suite, Movie Magic and AP ENPS (Electronic News Production System)
  • An array of 4K cameras and a full complement of lighting, audio, steady rigs and gimbals, and assorted grip equipment
  • 4K media production collaboration suites with 4K monitoring and DaVinci color correction
  • Three Podcast Studios with robotic cameras to create exciting video podcasts
  • An Open-Air Studio that provides students with a live, remote experience, using the latest, automated, touch-screen technology
  • The Ed McMahon Communications Center, a first-rate production facility equipped with industry standard technology for hands-on training in all aspects of television, film, journalism and multimedia production.

The School of Communications fosters a vibrant, collaborative community of passionate individuals dedicated to their craft. You'll build strong connections in and out of the classroom, engaging in opportunities to apply your knowledge, gain hands-on experience and prepare for your first job.

  • The Agency — a full-service, student-run interdisciplinary firm that takes on real projects from real clients

  • Student media organizations, including Q30 Television, The Quinnipiac Chronicle, PRSSA, Women in Film, AIGA and QBSN

  • Sports media opportunities to cover our D1 athletics on ESPN, intern with a network of alumni or major in our new BA in Sports Communications

  • Faculty-led international trips to England, Greece, Guatemala, Poland, Germany and more

  • QU in LA, open to any major and offered each semester and in the summer

  • Ability Media, an initiative that teaches students how to expand inclusion of people with different abilities, both in careers and content representation
