That’s why we look at many factors when considering each application for admission, especially as those factors relate to your specific program. We look at subject-specific courses you’ve taken and AP credits you’ve earned, as well as awards and other achievements.

All programs within the School of Computing & Engineering recommend laptops that best support the computing needs of students in that program. BS in Civil Engineering students are strongly urged to bring a QU-recommended Dell laptop or similarly equipped Windows laptop from another PC manufacturer.
While all software necessary for computing and engineering courses is available on classroom computers or via Citrix, most of the software that civil engineering students use and download only runs on Microsoft Windows. Students who choose another laptop (Mac, Chromebook, etc.) may be unable to participate in all classroom exercises, tutorials and assignments.
Please contact your program director with anything specific questions about laptops or technology requirements.
